On April 11, 2019, FAS Kyiv, in collaboration with the America House, hosted a U.S. wine tasting session as part of their program series, “American Food Stories.”  Guests where given the opportunity to taste and become more familiar with wines from California and Washington state:

Kendall-Jackson Pinot Noir

Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon

14 Hands Chardonnay

A guest speaker, wine enthusiast, introduced each of the wines and explained what makes Californian wine specifically, and U.S. wine in general, so special and why it has had difficulty getting the attention it deserves. The tasting was followed by the screening of the film Bottle Shock – a 2008 American film based on the 1976 wine competition, “Judgment of Paris” where two California wines defeated French wines in a blind taste-test. This event was attended by America House friends, partners and FAS Kyiv contacts – wine buyers and sommeliers.
