U.S. Ambassador Richard Grenell toured companies from Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) and Virginia Department of Agriculture at Bar Convent Berlin (BCB).  U.S. exhibitors successfully highlighted their large variety of products at the the show on October 8-10, 2018.  BCB has grown into one of the leading international trade fairs for the bar and beverages industry.  Each year the “Who’s Who” of this industry’s German and European representatives gather in Berlin.  Europe is the largest export market for U.S. distilled spirits, and Germany alone ranks fourth among export destinations, behind Canada, the UK, and Australia.

DISCUS hosted an American spirits pavilion at BCB. The participating distillers include: Alpine Distilling, Catoctin Creek, Corsair Artisan, Death’sDoor Distillery, Don Ciccio & Figli, Golden Moon Distillery, Great Lakes Distillery, HouseSpirits Distillery, James E Pepper Distilling, Kōloa Rum Company, KOVAL Distillery, Limestone Branch Distillery, Red Eye Louie’s, Traverse City Whiskey, and Whistling Andy Distilling.

Other DISCUS members, such as Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek and Bulleit Whiskey, were present with individual booths.
