American Quarter Horse Foals Sired by Top U.S. Stallions Born in the Czech Republic

Thanks to the federal Quality Samples Program, the US Department of Agriculture funding granted to the Czech affiliation of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), first six foals with U.S. genes were born at Czech ranches in May.

To celebrate the outcome of the program and to support Czech breeders of “Quarters”, Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) Prague in cooperation with the Czech Quarter Horse Association (CZQHA) organized a Meet & Greet event at a local western-style ranch attended by Ambassador King. Ambassador King discussed benefits of the grant with CZQHA representatives and underlined their cooperation with AQHA, located in Amarillo, Texas. Having been asked to “meet and name” one of the cute baby horses sired by a U.S. stud, Ambassador King was pleased to find a heritage of the iconic and active ranching lifestyle in the Czech Republic.

The long-term project continues and therefore, we can look forward to more foals being born in 2021. Besides the genetics diversification in the Czech Republic, this is a showcase promotion of benefits of the state-of-the-art reproduction technique. As the result, the world’s finest American Quarter Horse’s genes from the famous Texas-based “The Four Sixes” Ranch will be present in offspring of many future generations of this breed, which is becoming more and more popular in the Czech Republic.

AMERICAN QUARTER HORSES IN CZECH REPUBLIC VIDEO

V České republice se narodila hříbata American Quarter Horse s geny
amerických hřebců  

Díky grantu v rámci Quality Samples Program, který udělilo Ministerstvo
zemědělství USA české afilaci American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), se v
květnu narodilo na českých rančích šest hříbat s importovanými geny amerických
hřebců. Zemědělská sekce velvyslanectví ve spolupráci s Czech Quarter Horse
Association (CZQHA) při této příležitosti zorganizovala setkání na jednom z rančů za
účasti velvyslance Stephena Kinga. Velvyslanec hovořil se zástupci CZQHA o
přínosech programu a vyjádřil svou podporu českým chovatelům “quarterů” a další
spolupráci s mateřskou AQHA, která sídlí ve městě Amarillo v Texasu. Symbolicky také
pokřtil jedno z hříbat, které se letos díky programu narodilo, a měl možnost se
přesvědčit, že i v České republice je tradice ikonického životního stylu na westernovém
ranči živá.

Dlouhodobý projekt pokračuje, a tak se můžeme těšit na další hříbata, která přijdou na
svět v roce 2021. Kromě hlavního přínosu, spočívajícího v diverzifikaci a zkvalitnění
genofondu, demonstruje tento projekt výhody moderní reprodukční metody. Díky ní
mnoho dalších generací tohoto plemene, které je v ČR stále populárnější, ponese
kvalitní genetickou výbavu a rodokmen plemenných hřebců z proslulého
6666 Ranch v Texasu.
