Discover the diversity of U.S. wines at ProWein
The ProWein trade show took place from March 19-21, 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany. ProWein is one of the largest international wine trade shows in the world. This year’s key indicators of that fact were 6,500 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and a record number of 58,500 visitors from 130 countries.
U.S. wine exports, 90 percent from California, reached $1.62 billion in winery revenues in 2016. The European Union was the top destination for U.S. wine exports, accounting for $685 million, up 10% compared to the previous year. In both 2015 and 2016, U.S. wine exports to Germany were $88 million per year, an increase of 31% over 2014.
More than 90 companies from California, New York, Washington and Oregon displayed their products at the U.S. pavilion. FAS Berlin toured the show with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Germany, Kent Logsdon.
