On September 21, 2017, the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) and FAS The Hague jointly organized a first time ever Bakery Ingredients Outbound Trade Mission to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Eight west coast companies used one-on-one meetings with local importers to promote their tree nuts, dried fruits and flavorings. During their trip, they visited three bakery ingredients processors. The group was welcomed by the Chargé d’Affaires Shawn Crowley while the Dutch Dried Fruit and Nuts Traders Association (NZV) and Post provided an industry and market briefing to the group. After the event, Post followed up with all participating importers to evaluate their experience and document specific sales. To date, the buyers have reported USD 1.75 million of on-site sales and projected 12-month sales of USD 7.6 million of combined raisins, pecan nuts, almonds and walnuts.
