Taste Ambassadors Food and Drink Expo Show, Romania

May 30, 2017 - May 31, 2017 – All day

World Trade Center, Bucharest
Montreal square 10, Bucharest

FAS Bucharest used the Taste Ambassadors Food and Drink Expo Show as a good platform to raise the profile of U.S. products among Romanian HRI sector.  FAS Bucharest had the opportunity to introduce over 430 hospitality, retail, culinary and media professionals to high-quality U.S. fish and seafood, beef, sweet potatoes, dried fruits and nuts, wines, whiskey, chocolate, and sauces.

U.S. Ambassador Hans Klemm opened the activity and delivered introductory remarks highlighting the quality and distinctive taste of an array of American food products.  Two live cooking sessions showcasing U.S. fish and U.S. beef and other pairing ingredients were conducted by the Barbizon Steak House’s Chef Stefan Popescu. In the end, participants had the opportunity to sample U.S. dishes made with premium U.S. products (wild salmon, black cod, salmon roe, beef, sweet potatoes).

U.S. suppliers gained more exposure to their customers and potential new trade contacts. During this event, local importers and chefs had the opportunity to interact directly with Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute representatives, namely Mrs. Anastasia Semenova and Mrs. Ksenia Gorovaya, and U.S. Meat Export Federation represented by Mr. Yuri Barutkin, USMEF Representative for EU, Russia and CIS.
