The United States is the official country partner for Berlin Food Week 2018!

Berlin Food Week is a week-long, multi-event food festival with city wide promotions, targeted consumer workshops, exclusive dinners, celebrity chefs and more. Since 2014, chefs, restaurateurs, and food-oriented businesses and brands from around the world have come together in Berlin, united by their shared passion for trying new things, mixing eclectic styles and conducting bold experiments.

As this year’s highlight, U.S. products, chefs, ideas, and innovations were on display throughout the city.

Program:

July 30 – KICK-OFF RECEPTION FOR BERLIN FOOD WEEK

U.S. Ambassador Richard Grenell hosted over 50 top restaurants owners, chefs, distributors and journalists for a reception at the U.S. Embassy courtyard on July 31, 2018, featuring California wines, various U.S. beef cuts and U.S.- made artisan cheeses. The reception kicked off the Berlin Food Week event taking place in September 2018, with the United States as the official country partner.

In this video: Berlin based US-German celebrity chef Cynthia Barcomi is interviewing Aaron Caddel, the founder of Mr. Holmes Bakehouse.

September 17-23 – STADTMENÜ

A wild journey through the Berlin gastronomy scene: RoastTrip is the motto, inspired by this year’s country partner USA. 70 restaurants all over Berlin will interpret the given theme in their own kitchen language and serve their guests a unique menu.

September 17-23 – MIELE COOKING SCHOOL

Throughout a week, well-known chefs and food actors lead through the daily changing offer of workshops.

September 21-22 – HOUSE OF FOOD

A whole host of market stalls and food trucks on both the ground floor and rooftop terrace will be making taste buds tingle with culinary delights presented by around 50 producers, start-ups and brands.
